President | P.Eng
When I founded PICCO Engineering in 1992, my goal was to be the very best Structural Engineering firm we could be. I had no preconceived plans for our development or the path we would carve for ourselves. At the time, I felt I brought a unique perspective to the marketplace because of my experience with natural stone. I was fortunate to have gained great experience and mentorship from some very special people, including within the Greater Toronto Home Builders’ community. Quality workmanship and respect for my employees and our clients were my two main pillars at the onset. My objective was to put our clients’ success ahead of ours. By doing this, I felt confident that our success would be assured.
I am very proud of the path that PICCO Engineering has taken over the years. We have grown in ways I could not have imagined in 1992. Today, it is with great pride that I am often told we have the quickest turnaround times in the industry and yet our attention to detail and quality has never wavered. Value-Engineering is one of my personal pet-peeves; our team knows our role is to facilitate efficient and clever structural design. The focus we have on truly serving our value-clients gives me great satisfaction.
PICCO employs 40 employees and continues to grow. We have collaborated on some very high profile projects all over the world and many of them are truly humbling. However, I have and will continue to take pride in projects of all sizes, as these are the ones that started our path during those first challenging years. I am especially honoured to have established personal relationships with many of our clients. And, perhaps most importantly, I am proud we have employees that have been with us since the early days.
My goals are still rather modest. I can say with confidence that we will continue to strive to be one of the best structural engineering firms in our industry. We will continue to build respectful, positive and mutually beneficial relationships with our growing client base in our three main areas of expertise – Stone, Residential and Structural. And, it is very important to me that my employees enjoy a respectful and productive workplace, where they can grow both personally and professionally.
I would like to thank everyone that has been a part of our growth and success. You have my commitment that we will continue to maintain our fundamental principles: to provide the very best service, utilize the best and latest technologies, encourage employee growth, and put our clients’ success ahead of ours.
