Picco is very pleased to announce that our President & Founder Mike Picco will be presenting at the AIBC Architecture on the Edge Show in Vancouver, BC on Thursday May 26th, 2011. Mike’s presentation, entitled “Designing with Natural Stone: An Exploration in Trends and Advancements in Integration, Technology, and High Performance”, will speak to the incorporation and use of natural stone and stone engineering in a variety of building projects.

Mike’s focus on the qualities of natural stone should tie in nicely with the theme of this year’s show: West Coast creativity. As AIBC President Pierre E. Gallant suggests, “BC architects are continually inspired and challenged by our special surroundings and culture. Our stunning landscape and unique climate allow us an ideal vantage point from which to explore new concepts in form and design, sustainability, livability and social awareness.”

Architecture on the Edge 2011 will span across four days and feature various professional development sessions, an assortment of notable industry speakers, as well as professional recognition. The show culminates with a special awards gala on the evening of Friday May 27th, 2011 to celebrate the winners of 2011 AIBC Architectural Awards and the Architecture Canada RAIC Awards of Excellence.
