At Picco, we believe that environmental sustainability is of the utmost importance, especially when dealing with resources and materials such as natural stone and marble. We are strong supporters of LEED certified construction and are particularly proud of various projects we have worked on that represent excellence in sustainability practices.
Recently, Picco had the opportunity to work on the new Epcor Centre in Edmonton, Alberta. Epcor was one of Canada’s top ten earth-friendly employers in 2008, and their newest offices in Alberta certainly do a great job of demonstrating their commitment to sustainability.
Besides being LEED Silver certified, the Epcor Centre features green areas or exterior balconies on almost every level as well as heightened ceilings to maximize light penetration. Picco’s work on the 28 storey tower involves both tyndal stone and black granite materials.
